Ministry of Trade and Industry
CIPA is a Parastatal owned 100% by the Government of Botswana under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). The Ministry of Trade and Industry's mandate is to provide a conducive environment for growing the economy and creating wealth through investment, industrialization, economic diversification and trade. This it achieves through various MTI departments as well as other parastatals including Citizen and Entrepreneural Development Agency (CEDA), Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS), Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), Competition Authority, Botswana Development Corporation (BDC), Selibe-Phikwe Economic Diversification Unit (SPEDU) and Gambling Authority.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry is responsible for implementing Trade Agreements, drafting laws and policies affecting trade in Botswana, as well as investor programs geared at diversifying the Economy of Botswana.
