Accounting Officers
All Close Companies are required to appoint an Accounting Officer who is a member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA), and their duties are:
- Keeping the company’s books and financial records and preparing its financial statements.
- Determine whether the annual financial statements are in agreement with the accounting records of the close company.
- Review the appropriateness of the accounting policies represented to the accounting officer as having been applied in the preparation of the annual financial statements.
